Intrinsic pulmonary sealing, its mechanisms and impact on validity and translational value of lung sealant studies: a pooled analysis of animal studies

Background: No validated and standardized animal models of pulmonary air leakage (PAL) exist for testing aerostatic efficacy lung sealants. Lack negative control groups in published studies intrinsic sealing mechanisms healthy lungs might contribute to a translational gap, leading poor clinical results. This study aims address the impact on validity PAL models, investigate conditions required an ovine model sealant testing.
